For Living - Keep That Cup

We've been seeing these reusable coffee cups around, and wondered when they would pop up for us online. And of course where else but our new favourite online store Collection of Cool. Collection of Cool are pretty much everything Distillate is about, so it was a very happy find. So yes, back onto the cups... Full story here

For Living - It's A Wonderful Rainy Day

We take tea drinking most seriously here in the Distillate studio, and it's loose leaf all the way...except unless it's British brand Yorkshire Gold, which we can only track down in tea bag format (get it, it's great).

For Living - Organic Household Cleaners

I apologise ahead of time. Because I know you can run down to the supermarket and pick up some crap cleaning products for about $4. And Murchison Hume isn't cheap. And once you try it you're not going to be able to live without it, and will spend your time coveting it, peeling the price tags off as soon as you get home in case your partner/flatmate/friend finds out you spent $12 on counter spray. But take it from me, they're so, so worth it.

Paper Boat Servers

Paper Boat Servers

Form Us With Love have designed these serving bowls with memories of floating paper boats in mind, which we think is pretty obvious no?

The bowl comes with hilarious teak 'oar's serving spoons. You can also pick up the buoy inspired salt and pepper shakers as well.

Disposable? We Think Not

Disposable? We Think Not

We've all seen a LOT of quirky ceramic designs based on disposable items - the coffee cup, the crinkled plastic cup etc

But these these porcelain dishes modeled on tin food containers, show designer Lorena Barrezueta as having one fun sense of humour and a way with colour.

The entire collection is handmade is Lorena's studio out of Brooklyn.

Towels for Wiping

Towels for WipingWith so many fabulous tea towels out there, there's simply no excuse anymore to have a horrid little synthetic piece of crap lying limp in your kitchen.

Here are some of our favourites from Third Drawer Down, with honourable mentions also going to Horne.
