Tipple Time - Pimped Fizz

Tipple Time - Pimped Fizz.

Seriously, who were we to resist the delights of a drink called Pimped Fizz? A little like a sophisticated slushy, this involves raspberry sorbet, gin and champagne. Bring on the good times.

Tipple TIme - Gin and Grapefruit Cocktail

Yes. This sounds delectable. Something I wish I was drinking poolside on Sunday night in that awful heat while the ash from a nearby bush fire fell into the pool water... Full story here

Tipple Time – The Cup Cocktail

Tipple Time – The Cup Cocktail

Melbourne Cup.  A brilliant excuse to take half a day off and get tipsy. If you don't/can't get the afternoon off though, we found out that Sydney's The Victoria Room has got your back. They're offering 'The Cup Cocktail and Canape' for a tiny $12 from 5pm on, so you can catch up as fast as possible. Nice.

And we have The Victoria Room to thank for today's Tipple Time recipe. To shake up one of these tasty treats at your own party, simply take Beefeater Gin shaken with Amaro Montenegro Bitters, passionfruit, lemon & orange juices‚ and then serve it martini style.

Tipple Time - The Ichigo

Tipple Time - The Ichigo

For this recipe things are going to get a little creative. You will need to combine half a 100ml bottle of vodka with one and one-half cups of sliced strawberries. Leave for 72hours, and then strain. You now have your very own home-infused strawberry vodka! Ichigo apparently is the japanese work for "strawberry"

Usually considered a summer drink, this refreshing lime concoction is a tart surprise when the chill of winter weather settles in.

Tipple Time - Old Cuban

Old Cuban

This recipe relies on Angostura Bitters for it's lift, and given we are massive Angostura Bitters fans (the graphics on the bottle alone, could potentially be enough for us) we will definitely be giving this one ago.

Lime juice, mint, bitter and rum...easy. Although this recipe calls sugar syrup simple syrup. And sugar syrup is equal water to equal sugar (white and refined) and simmer till dissolved.
